Frequently Asked Questions

Let's talk about expectations. We are far away from delivery trucks, the electrical grid, and cell towers. All of our supplies come by boat once a week. Our power is mostly Solar generated on site, our laundry is here, our kitchen is here. But that does not mean we are primitive! We have 24/7 electricity, unlimited hot water, and StarLink internet service available for our guests.

Meals are served family-style and the portions are generous. The menu is hearty with perfectly cooked protein and generous amounts of vegetables. Soft beverages are always free and we have a nice selection of cocktails and wine available for purchase. If you need an extra kick in the morning, we have cappuccinos and lattes available for purchase in our coffee shop.

All accommodations have new mattresses wrapped in soft, clean and stylish bedding. Towels and pillows are fluffy and beautiful and perfect (if you are into that!). We have really nice toiletries because we want you to smell good (sorry lumberjacks and kids).

We have a beautiful fire pit outside for chilly evenings and a big fireplace inside. The stars are absolutely unforgettable from our runway. Bring your own binoculars and a laser pointer!

When do you open for the 2024 season?

Are you open during the winter and spring?

Sometimes. We do a lot of projects in the off-season. Reach out to us via email and we can discuss availability and expectations.

How do I check-in? When is arrival time?

Normal check-in is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. If you need an early or late arrival, please email or call us at 541-841-5067. When you arrive at our dock, find the radio, or walk up the stairs to let us know your group has arrived. We will use the tram to porter your bags and a staff member will direct you to your rooms.

Where do I park my boat?

We have a dock for loading and unloading only. Please be aware that other rafts or jet boats may be arriving or leaving the dock. We will porter your group's bags up by tram, you can collect them on our firewood porch which is a central location.

Are meals included with lodging? What about dietary restrictions?

Appetizers, Dinner, Desert, Coffee Service and Breakfast are included in the room rate, lunch is available for purchase if you are staying over. We gladly work with your group on any dietary restrictions. Please let us know several weeks in advance so we can prepare to serve you.

Can I bring food?

Other than trail snacks or special diet needs, we ask guests to refrain from bringing food to the lodge as it can quickly attract wildlife. Cooking and cooking fires are expressly prohibited anywhere on the property.

Is there a bar?

The Lodge has a full bar featuring specialty cocktails, a wine cellar emphasizing regional offerings from Oregon, and great local beers.

We are a fully licensed OLCC operation. No outside Alcohol is allowed.

What if I have a medical emergency?

We have a simple first aid kit on the property, and you are welcome to self administer first aid. If first aid is not sufficient we will call a helicopter for you that can provide emergency transport. This expense is your liability.

Do you have CPAP rooms?

All the cabins and lodge rooms are CPAP ready.

Can I call you at the lodge?

Half Moon Bar Lodge is far beyond the range of cell towers and residential wifi. However we can usually make phone calls and send/receive texts through our satellite internet. Please give us a call or text us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Our number is 541 841 5067.
